Kia ora Te Horo Whanau, ko Danielle McMurchie taku ingoa.
I joined the Te Horo School Community at the beginning of 2020. I am Deputy Principal and leader of Room 9, Room 10, Room 11 and Room 12.
I teach in Room 12 which is a Year 7 & 8 class.
I am passionate about Mathematics, Universal Design for Learning, Assessment and Digital Technologies.
I have been teaching for 18 years and have been in leadership roles for 16 of these. I spent two years learning to be a Mathematics Specialist Teacher, so I am consider mathematics teaching and developing a growth mindset in children as strengths of my teaching practice.
I was attracted to teaching at Te Horo School as I had heard only wonderful things about the school in education settings. I was also excited to work in a smaller community where developing relationships with the community was easier because of its smaller size.
I live locally in Ōtaki with my husband, my 6 year old daughter who attends Te Horo School and my 4 year old son. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and don't mind a wee bit of fishing and camping. although we just recently acquired a caravan so that camping is more like glamping.
