Te Horo School - Manākitia/Family Fund

 

We understand that some families/whānau can struggle at times to pay for school activities. We do not want any of our students to not take part in school activities or events due to financial hardship, so we have set up the Manākitia/ Family fund. Manākitia is about the action of supporting others, it is about respecting others and caring for others and collective wellbeing.

The Manākitia Fund is a fund where families/whānau, businesses, and the wider community can
make monetary donations that are received by Te Horo School for the purpose of supporting children,
and families/whānau at our school. This could be by:

• Making regular donations to the Manākitia Fund - as little as $5 a week
• Ad hoc donations to the Manākitia Fund to cover the costs of school activities for a
  family/whānau, such as school camps.
• Payments can be made via, Eftpos (office) or direct credit into our bank account

All incoming and outgoing donations are recorded in our accounting system - Xero. The recording includes who the donation is from, the amount, the date of the donation, and what that donation is going towards (if the donation is for a specific purpose). Receipts will be issued to people who donate funds. GST is not payable on donations, however donation tax credits can be claimed.
